Despite facing an unprecedented confluence of challenges, America's election officials have endured through the past six years. They have made the most of inadequate funding, they installed safety measures to help navigate a global pandemic, they turned a potential shortage of poll workers into a surplus, they have fought disinformation, and they continue to withstand a manipulative domestic political assault that calls their competence and patriotism into question.

​But despite their unimpeachable dedication and widespread success during the last several election cycles, local election officials across the country remain under attack. They have been on the receiving end of disgusting personal threats, defamatory and baseless claims of bias, and constant challenges from unqualified amateurs outside the system.

Protect Our Election is organizing a nationwide research project to compile a hyperlocal database of the vulnerabilities in our election administration: we're working to identify where local officials need funding and resources, where anti-democratic forces are taking hold, and where disinformation has run rampant through our communities.
